Adam was a young boy living in the big
city with his parents. He was eight years old and was currently
packing his backpack with his favorite films. His mom entered his
room with a suitcase.
„Here's your clothes, Adam” she
spoke. „Your toothbrush is also in here. Granny is waiting
downstairs. Come and say hello”.
With luggage and Adam packed and
suited, he was soon sitting in the back of Granny's car with Grandad
and Grandma in the front. „Are you excited for the weekend, Adam?”
she asked, looking back at him with a smile. He said yes.
„We will be there soon, Addie” said
Grandad with his eyes at Adam in the rear-view. „Our farm is a bit
off from the city, you see.”
When they arrived, Adam was given some
chocolate-milk and cookies. After that he was shown to the room they
had prepared for him.
„We hope you like it, Addie” said
Grandad. „This is your mom's old room, actually”.
„Now Adam” said Grandma. „You
need to listen carefully to what we must tell you”.
Adam did not listen carefully, but saw
all the toys in the corner of this room. Grandma took his hand gently
and showed him the way down the hall. They stopped in front of a
door.
„You are under no circumstances”
she emphasized „allowed to enter this room.
No matter what you hear at night.”
Adam
looked at the door with curiosity. And obliged.
At night Adam woke up. He heard some
weird noises he did not understand. It sounded like a tormented cat
howling as a large dog growled. And he heard loud knocks, which
repeated. Disturbed by this he exited his room and followed this
noise and traced it to the forbidden room. As the screams and
banging continued, he remembered Grandma's warning. But then he
thought someone maybe was trapped inside of the room and needed
help. So he disobeyed and opened the door. Confused he saw Grandma
sitting on top of Grandad in a bed. She was screaming and breathing
hard as he was growling and banging the bed against the wall. They
were naked.
Brilliant! Great suspense. Perfect for a children's horror book! I think...
ReplyDeleteBad boy, that Adam. Will come to no good end, I fear...
