Breaking News! Couple Compare Hills to Elephants
Yesterday In
a café a couple had an argument that was noticed by the staff and some of the guests.
Of great significance was the fact that they compared the hills of the Ebro Valley
to white elephants
A conversation in the café Senorita de Aventura
developed into a heated spat over a mutual relationship. The staff who
overheard the exchange of words report that a couple arrived to have a drink
and began talking about the hills surrounding the valley looking like “white
elephants”. The staff points out that the couple had more than one drink at the
café and say that they had never heard such a comparison about the hills before.
According to other sources at the scene the couple discussed different
types of and the effect of alcohol. They seemed to be concerned about the
direction their relationship was taken. The man promised the girl the world. A
fact that did not seem to impress her. One source at the café clearly states
that the girl was very skeptical towards such notions. The idea of an operation
did not please her either.
Funny idea to do the Hem. story almost in the style of a satirical news site. Most of the elements that would guarantee that the reader would recognize the original text underneath yours are present. The year is off, though, by a bit more than 20 years. I enjoyed very much how elements of Hemingway's terse style with few or no subordinate clauses made it into your text as well.
