Love
I never
knew much about love
But I knew
about you and me
We were
always above
And I knew
that we were meant to be
Our love was
so pure and so true
Trust me
darling when I say this
This love
came from me to you
And I loved you more and more for every time we kissed
And when
I looked into your eyes
It felt
right and not like a lie
With a stomach
full of butterflies
Loved
was I
What a sweet and heart warming poem. We haven't had many yet about 'love', so it's good to someone with it.
ReplyDeleteI think the poem would be more effective if you stuck to one tense (the backwards phrase being in the past tense, it would have to be that one). As it is, the reader is wondering if the shifts between present and past are deliberate or random. The backwards phrase in itself works well, as it reeks of nostalgia.
ReplyDeleteI get what you mean, so I have changed the tense and stuck to one only.
