Original sentence: No not really
Backwards sentence: Really not no

Is it fair?

Is it fair that you had to leave like that?
To leave this earth too soon
Really not, no

Is it fair that you never got a chance?
A chance to fulfill your full potential
Really not, no

Is it fair that your family have to go through this?
To have to say an early goodbye
Really not, no

Is it fair that I now have to visit you there?
To stand and cry at your grave
Really not, no

Is it fair that you now only in memories live?
Because you no longer are here
Really not, no

Is it fair that he took you home right now?
Before you were ready to go

  1. Beautiful structure of the poem. It helped convey the emotion throughout. It is sad, relatable, subtle, but powerful.

  2. Quite effective set of variations on the lament over unfair demise. A comma inserted in the backwards phrase would have made it even better, I think: "Really not, no"...
