A secret love story (writing game 5)
Lisa and Bella, two choir
girls from Silkeborg and Aarhus, decided to go on a cut-price trip to
Morocco for 10 days in the beginning of July; they had met each other in the
LYT choir 5 years ago and their friendship had slowly developed into becoming
more of a flirt than a friendship. They were both insecure about their
emotions, but after one crazy party with their choir group 3 months ago one
thing led to another and afterwards they couldn’t stop talking about this drunken night – that party was a turning point in their relationship and their
stepping stone to planning the trip to Morocco.
Lisa picked up Bella
after her last workday before their vacation. Lisa smiled form behind the
steering wheel as she saw Bella standing by the staff
entrance with her bags next to
her. After a long drive, they finally arrived at Copenhagen airport, they had 3 hours to kill before
boarding time at 6pm.
One of their biggest common interests was the beautiful nature of Denmark,
especially the lovely sound of the birds singing the melody Danish summer. They
had spent countless of hours in the big forest listening to the melodies of
their favourite birds – the woodpecker and the peacock. Both of them being very adventurous had drawn
them even closer together and Bella talked about how her big brother and his
girlfriend had been on the exact trip 7 years ago – they both loved it and they
were especially impressed by the view of a rare hummingbird, which Bella and Lisa were both very excited to
hopefully see.
After finally having
boarded and settled down on their seats, they continued talking about how they
wouldn’t miss the slightly boring everyday life in central Jylland with the
constant talk of Anker Jørgensen in the news, their shitty Sunday dinner of pizza from
Ristorante,
how they both ended up with 6 days of diarrhoea after having eaten some too old
ketchup from Heinz and finally enigma of the mysterious sweet potatoes
last Christmas.
On the way to their
hotel, they noticed a poor man selling red and
garlic onions in the ditch, which
apparently was a normal thing for tourists to be surprised about.
Upon arrival at their
hotel room, they were both thrilled to see a small TV, a more or less functional dishwasher and indispensable wires; however, they were
less thrilled to discover a snub nose in a desk drawer, but were quickly relieved when a
local police officer confiscated it.
Before exploring the
rainforest of Brazil, they spent one day at the local museum, where they were
amazed by the painting of “Mercury about to slay argus”, which for some reason reminded them of the
book “Silkworm”.
They spent their last
night all dressed up with Clinique on their lips for a delicious dinner. They ended the
night lying down on the sand and looking up on the sky. The stars and the
planet of Mercury fuck up the sky
This is writing game 10, travel writing - not game 5!
ReplyDeleteIt would be beneficial if the trip could decide on whether it is going to Morocco or Brasil. Poor editing! Besides there is not really any authentic sounding local color, nor encounters with interesting natives of the place.
The ingredients are relatively well naturalized, but less and less so towards the end.
